I have suffered for some time with an inflamed scalp, which does come and go and which I have tried to treat with bacterial or anti-dandruff shampoo in the past. I have felt it has got progressively worse over the last 12 months when it is most inflamed it causes some bleeding and I recently saw a dermatologist who prescribed products that haven’t helped. It can be sore when lying down to sleep at night when it is most inflamed too. I am keen to find the best way to manage this condition, it definitely affects my general wellbeing.

My dermatologist said to me that she felt it was probably inflamed by stress so it’s not a surprise it has got worse during the COVID pandemic. Whereas Shuna has discussed diagnosed my condition as an autoimmune scarring condition called Pseudopelade of Brocq, my treatment has only just started with an ointment twice a week and daily washing to clear up the flakes on my scalp and hopefully control the inflammation without the need for steroids.
