Washing Hair for Hair Loss & Scalp Conditions
[us_single_image image=”3724″ size=”full” align=”center”]Daily washing is the very best way to care for your hair. This advice is regardless of your hair type, the condition of your scalp or whether it’s coloured. It is vital for the scalp to be in good condition for the environment to be suitable for optimum hair growth. If you have fine hair daily shampooing may already be part of your daily routine, if you aren’t washing your hair daily, the best way to add body and shine is to do so.
Shampooing can make a huge difference to the look and feel of your hair. Shuna Hammocks Trichology suggests you gently comb the hair through before washing then:
Wet hair thoroughly, using a small amount of shampoo; distribute between hands, before smoothing over the head. Work shampoo into a lather, adding a little water if necessary, in preference to more shampoo. Cleanse the scalp, using the pads of fingers in a circular motion, working from the forehead to the nape. Allow the suds to run down the hair; there is no need to rub the hair length or pile up on top of the head- this causes tangles. Rinse well with warm water. There is absolutely no advantage whatsoever in using a “cool rinse” the conditioner helps to promote the shine!
Conditioner must always be used following shampoo; your choice of conditioner is carefully selected according to our discussion and examination of your hair type. The purpose of even the lightest conditioner is to give moisture to the hair, to smooth the cuticle, the protective layer of each hair strand. It helps to reduce static and minimises the chance of breakage.
Apply to the mid-lengths and ends of the hair, working with the finger tips to evenly distribute; a wide-tooth comb can aid this. Rinse well.
During every visit to Shuna Hammocks Trichology for treatment, your particular combination of shampoo and conditioner will be used.
